Associate Scientist in Maize Physiology

The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) is seeking a suitable, qualified candidate for an Associate Scientist position in Maize Physiology to support the development of high-yielding, stress-tolerant maize varieties for tropical and subtropical environments in Africa, Latin America, and Asia. The position will involve considerable travel both within Mexico and overseas. Based at CIMMYT's campus 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico, the appointment is initially for three years, with the opportunity for extension into a career position.

A major responsibility will be research in the project "Drought Tolerant Maize for Africa," including large-scale phenotyping of drought tolerant populations, detailed physiological characterization of maize germplasm, and adaptation of in vivo doubled haploid technology.
