A Research Associate (RA) position is immediately available at the department of Plant science, University of Manitoba, Canada. The RA will be actively involved in a research project focused on development of Canola/Rapeseed as feed stock for biodiesel production. The specific areas of research include gene mapping for oil content in brassica and isolation /characterization of candidate genes influencing the seed oil synthesis. The candidate must have knowledge of plant breeding, genetics, gene mapping, QTL analysis and, plant molecular biology. The knowledge about brassica/canola and conducting the field experiments will be assets.
