The successful candidate is expected to develop an interdisciplinary, extramurally-funded program that unites genomics, sequence data, modern marker technology, computational biology, and/or statistical genetics with plant breeding. Basic research conducted by this position should translate to applied outcomes such as demonstrated trait enhancement and development of enhanced germplasm. Applicants with demonstrated expertise in use of markers in plant genetics, quantitative genetics and statistics, plant breeding, utilization of genome sequences, and/or molecular genetic characterization will be strongly considered.

The position is 70% research and 30% teaching. The successful candidate is expected to build an interdisciplinary research program. The position has a key role in collaborations with scientists from other OSU departments, with USDA scientists located at OSU, and with industry groups and state-wide programs such as the Ohio BioProducts Innovation Center and the Ohio Soybean Council.
