Post-doctoral Positions in Wheat and barley genomics
University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada

The Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan is looking for motivated and hard-working individuals with research interests in plant biochemistry, analytical chemistry, molecular biology and genetics. Qualified individuals are invited to apply for post-doctoral, graduate student and technical positions in the areas of cereal crop responses to abiotic stress and grain quality. The department has state of the art laboratory facilities in molecular biology, genomics and crop quality, very productive crop improvement research programs and excellent field and phytotron facilities. The post-doctoral fellows and graduate students will have ample opportunities to develop a comprehensive research projects combining molecular biology with crop improvement programs. Cereal genomics scientists will have ample opportunity to interact with other colleagues developing genetic maps and QTL analyses for abiotic stress and grain quality (carbohydrates) related traits. Doubled haploid mapping populations (wheat and barley) that have been phenotyped for cold tolerance, pre-harvest sprouting and grain carbohydrates are available. In addition a hexaploid wheat BAC library (5X) is also available in-house.

Interested individuals should submit their curriculum vitae and a brief statement of research interest to
